Cary Facilities to Close on Friday, July 4, for Independence Day Holiday; Text July4 to 51597 for Fireworks and Koka Booth Amphitheatre Event Updates

  • Cary Town Hall and most staffed facilities will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day; GoCary will run its Sunday schedule on July 4.
  • Curbside collection will continue as scheduled throughout the week; however, curbside collection services will not be available on July 4, and the Citizen’s Convenience will be closed on that day.
  • Celebrate Independence Day in Cary with two free events: a July 3 celebration at Downtown Cary Park, followed by a July 4 celebration at Koka Booth Amphitheatre that includes a fireworks finale. 

Cary, NC - Cary Town Hall and most staffed facilities, including community and arts centers, Cary 311, and the Citizen’s Convenience Center, will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. GoCary will operate on a Sunday-level service for fixed routes and Tier I only for Door-to-Door on July 4. Cary community centers, Cary Senior Center, The Page-Walker Arts and History Museum, and the Cary Arts Center will close at 5 p.m. on July 3. They will resume operating hours on July 7. The Cary will be closed on July 4 and resume regular hours on July 5. The Cary Tennis Park will be closed for public play on July 4 to host the Cary Tennis Classic Pro Tournament; tickets for the event can be purchased at Cary Tennis Classic.

Kick off July 4 festivities early on July 3 at Downtown Cary Park starting at 4 p.m. Enjoy a movie screening of "Top Gun" (PG-13), family-friendly activities, and a lineup of food trucks. This event is free, open to the public, and suitable for all ages. Visit Downtown Cary Park for more.

Citizens looking to spend time outdoors on July 4 can visit the Bond Park Boathouse from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with an Independence Day Fishing Tournament from 8 to 11 a.m. Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve will be open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; however, Stevens Nature Center will be closed. Cary Action Sports is open from 5 to 9 p.m.

For the holiday tout de fete, come to Cary’s Koka Booth Amphitheatre on July 4. The celebration will include patriotic performances by the Cary Town Band and the NC Symphony, fun activities for kids, and a fireworks finale over Symphony Lake starting around 9:25 p.m., weather permitting.
