CARY, NC - The Cary Police Department is hosting its Public Safety Day event on Saturday, September 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. along South Academy Street in downtown Cary. This free, family-friendly event features interactive exhibits, equipment displays, food trucks, and opportunities to meet public safety personnel.
Attendees can connect with staff from the Cary Police Department and Cary Fire Department, as well as representatives from EMS, WakeMed, 25 police agencies, and other local organizations dedicated to keeping the community safe.
For the safety of participants, South Academy Street will be closed between Dry Avenue and E. Park Street beginning at 7 a.m., with the road anticipated to reopen by 3 p.m. Detour signage will guide motorists. Attendees are encouraged to park in the Academy Street or Cedar Street parking decks.
