BANDS, BITES, AND BOATS
August 7 | 6 – 8 p.m. | Bond Park Boathouse

Kick back, relax, and soak in the sounds at Bands, Bites, and Boats — a free community event featuring live music, local food, and lakefront fun for a performance by Adam Pitts. Enjoy bites from Not Just a Fry Guy and Craft Public House food trucks, plus brews by Fortnight Brewing Company. Join us for a VIP evening as the North Carolina Courage take the field at WakeMed Soccer Park! Celebrate Nickelodeon Night with family fun, including a chance to carry the Courage Shield during the national anthem. 50TH ANNUAL LAZY DAZE ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL
August 22 – 23 | 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Downtown Cary

Celebrate 50 years of creativity, community, and festival tradition at the Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival! This milestone year will showcase over 250 exceptional artists from across the country, along with live entertainment on four stages, more than 25 food vendors, a beer garden, and the return of the festival favorites from years past!

This year’s festival also features exciting new and returning experiences, including the return of Squonk with an all-new, larger-than-life performance, a new Emerging Artists Showcase highlighting up-and-coming creative talent, and the Access the Arts Art Market, featuring artists with disabilities. USING TREES TO SUPPORT ENERGY SAVINGS

Beginning in September, Cary residents will be able to participate in a pilot program focused on strategic tree planting to support climate resiliency and energy savings. Trees help cool our community by shading homes, neighborhoods, schools, and roadways while also lowering surrounding air temperatures through evapotranspiration. When thoughtfully placed, trees and shrubs can help reduce summer cooling needs and provide a buffer from winter winds. Cary residents, homeowners, churches, and schools can learn more at carync.gov/shadingthefuture.
