Description: Cary received an application to rezone approximately 10 acres located at 12010 Regency Parkway by amending the existing Regency Park Planned Development District (PDD). The applicant wishes to rezone to change the allowed uses on the site from office to multifamily. The rezoning request would allow the development of up to 245 multifamily units with a building height of 60 feet. Additional development standards include a minimum of 10 electric vehicle charging stations, a commitment to building to Green Building Standards and a provision for 5% of the units to be reserved for workforce housing.

The applicants, Greenwood Forest Baptist Church and the Town of Cary, wish to rezone to allow for up to 96 affordable dwelling units (offered for rent to those making 80% of AMI or less), 3,600 square feet of office uses, 13,770 square feet of pre-school and/or daycare uses, and to retain an existing religious assembly use.
