Join us for MLK Day of Service at Good Hope Farm.  To support food security in our region, volunteers are needed to help prepare our organic teaching farm for spring planting. As part of this day of service, we ask that all volunteers bring at least one canned/nonperishable food item for donation to the local food pantry.

Volunteers can expect to perform a variety of agricultural field work.  Volunteer service may include using wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, hoes, pitchforks, pruners and more as we prepare our farm for spring produce planting.

Come dressed in weather-appropriate work clothes that you can get dirty in and sturdy closed toe shoes. Bring a full water bottle. Volunteers aged 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

We ask that organized groups such as scout troops, businesses, and clubs to register as individuals and not as a group. This is for maximum communication in regards to the event.  For questions or clarifications please contact 311.

Parking at the farm is limited, so please carpool whenever possible.

Any volunteer that needs hours verification must present their documentation at the end of the shift prior to leaving.  Volunteer hours after this date will not be able to be verified.

Join us at Good Hope Farm (1580 Morrisville Carpenter Road) for a volunteer workday on the third Saturday of every month from 9–11 a.m. Bring a water bottle, closed toe shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and/or bug spray as desired. Cary's greenways are a valued and cherished amenity for the entire community. Spruce is a volunteer program that connects residents to waste reduction, beautification, and environmental service opportunities in our community.

Spruce initiatives include biannual town-wide litter sweeps, Adopt a Spot opportunities, garden projects, tree plantings, outdoor improvement projects in public places, and neighborhood-scale sweeps.

The Spruce program is a way for residents, civic and religious groups, neighborhoods, churches, businesses, and schools to work together to have a direct, positive impact on our environment. We welcome participation on large and small scales.
