Brittany Richards Rooted in a lifelong commitment to service, Brittany Richards grew up in a family where civic engagement was a core value. Her parents instilled in their three children the importance of staying informed, speaking up, and contributing time and energy to causes that strengthened the community. Her mother, in particular, modeled these principles through her work as PTA president and her service on citizen advisory boards. These early lessons taught Brittany that public service can take many forms and that every voice has the potential to make a meaningful impact.

Brittany continues that legacy in Cary, the community she proudly calls her adopted hometown. She and her husband, Greg, are raising four children who attend Cary public schools, along with a lively household that includes two dogs, two gerbils, and three frogs. Her experience as a parent shapes her commitment to safeguarding Cary’s future for all families.

As an elected and sworn-in member of the Cary Town Council, Brittany brings a forward-looking perspective focused on thoughtful stewardship and community well-being. She is dedicated to protecting Cary’s natural spaces, maintaining the high-quality services that residents rely on, and ensuring diverse housing options for people at every stage of life. She envisions a Cary where children can grow and explore, adults can build secure and fulfilling lives, and retirees can continue to thrive—all while preserving the qualities that make the town unique.

With a strong sense of purpose and deep love for the community her family intentionally chose, Councilmember Brittany Richards is committed to ensuring that Cary remains a place where all families can thrive for generations to come.
