A quarterly report is prepared for the Town Council to provide regular updates on financials, key projects, events, and other operations. Cary’s fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30. These quarterly updates support Cary’s rolling budget process, in which budget conversations happen between Council, staff, and citizens year-round.

Fiscal Year 2026 First Quarter

Highlights from Q1 include:

  • The Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival, which drew 55,000 visitors downtown.
  • A $400,000 donation from the Shane Pegram Family Foundation to renovate the Davis Drive Park playground.
  • A Children’s Sensory Garden that opened at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center.
  • Cary’s new FEMA flood rating, which could lower flood insurance costs for some citizens.
  • Cary’s first Scam Jam and Senior Home Fair.
