2025 CSX Cary Closure Information
CSX Transportation will conduct track maintenance in Cary from March 17-28, weather permitting. Beginning March 17, this work will require temporary street closures at several at-grade railroad crossings.
- March 17: Laura Duncan Road and Old Apex Road
- March 18: N. Dixon Avenue and High House Road
- March 19: Old Apex Road and N. Harrison Avenue
Each closure is expected to last between two and five days, though schedules may shift due to weather or unforeseen conditions. No vehicle or pedestrian traffic will be allowed to cross the tracks during closures. Motorists should follow posted detours and plan for potential traffic disruptions during this time.

Project Planning and Work Details
Railroad crews will conduct track work on a schedule designed to minimize disruption to freight and passenger service. A separate crew will follow to repave each crossing prior to reopening to traffic. Any work performed at night is exempt from the Town’s noise ordinance.
