Project Review Process

Staff and Council comprehensively reviewed 391 capital projects in Spring 2025 in response to two key financial pressures: rising operating/construction costs and flattening revenue. This review reflected the challenging balance between maintaining important initiatives and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

• 198 projects were determined to be complete with no work outstanding
• 125 projects were under construction and continue moving forward
• 68 projects were placed in the "Reassess" category

What "Reassess" Means

"Reassess" projects are valuable initiatives that will continue to be monitored. Due to rapidly escalating costs, completion costs associated with each project now exceed the funding available within the project. These 68 projects have had the remaining funding removed and will be reviewed and reassessed by Council and staff for future reprioritization and/or funding.
