We’re excited to share that this important greenway safety enhancement and stormwater maintenance project has just been completed and White Oak Creek Greenway is re-opened. 

If you’ve ever felt the need to give a shout-out while navigating the tight turn at the entrance to the greenway tunnel under Cary Parkway, you’ll appreciate the upgrades made with this project. The greenway trail on the east side of the tunnel under Cary Parkway has been widened and the curves softened, greatly enhancing sightlines while entering and exiting the tunnel. Additionally, a stormwater culvert has been repaired, and safety railings have been installed.

This project began November 12, 2024 and was completed sooner than anticipated.

White Oak Creek Greenway at Cary Parkway

 An existing pedestrian tunnel goes under Cary Parkway. Cary has a project to realign the curve on the east side of the tunnel and fix a drainage pipe. A sidewalk detour following Cary Parkway to High House Road to Bond Park (Maury O'Dell Place) is available.
