Project Background

As Cary continues to grow and develop, we recognize the importance of providing sufficient parking for Downtown Cary businesses and visitors, while ensuring parking is designed and managed in a way that best supports existing and future development and is considerate of those who live in and near Downtown.

Future private and public projects, such as Downtown Park, will bring even more visitors and businesses to the heart of Cary.  We recognize the need for a comprehensive long-term plan for providing well-designed and strategically located parking to serve our community.

The Downtown Strategic Parking Plan study was first completed in 2022. Following the subsequent opening of the Downtown Cary Park and substantial private development in the area, we updated the study in 2024 to identify and incorporate any changes in parking supply and demand.
