Cary has more than 31 public parks, 82 miles of trails, cultural arts classes and programs as well as concerts and other special events throughout the year.
The Koka Booth Amphitheatre is Cary's state-of-the-art performance center nestled in the trees by Symphony Lake, featuring N.C. Symphony concerts and other performances and outdoor festivals.
- Downtown Cary offers a thriving, walkable experience full of shopping, dining, and entertainment anchored by the groundbreaking, state-of-the-art Downtown Cary Park and surrounding social district. From summer's Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival to the winter wonderland that is the Heart of the Holidays Celebration each December, there's always something amazing going on downtown.
- Professional teams and sports tournaments at every competition level call Cary home, including NC Courage, North Carolina FC (NCFC), TST 7v7, the Atlantic Tire Championships, the SAS Championship, and USA Baseball.
- The path to the Olympics often comes through Cary. In 2012, Cary was selected as the host city for the U.S. and North American Table Tennis Olympic Trials in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. In 2015, the Town hosted the North American and the Caribbean Rugby Association Men's and Women's Sevens Championships at WakeMed Soccer Park, a qualifying opportunity for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. In 2023, Cary's Triangle Aquatic Center was chosen as a site for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team's training camp.
- At the regional level, the Triangle boasts major league hockey, Triple-A and Single-A baseball clubs, and other professional and college sports teams, including NC State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University.
