Dreamfest Weekend

The weekend began with 165 attendees gathering for a discussion of the John Lewis: Good Trouble documentary, featuring a dynamic panel that set the tone for reflection and civic engagement. From there, the MLK celebrations showcased remarkable community impact: The Village Dining & Discussion welcomed 150 participants for a thoughtful conversation on school vouchers; the MLK Children's Program engaged approximately 125 attendees, created 33 crafts, and collected donations for the FUMC Food Pantry; and the Cultural Performing Arts Celebration drew 450 attendees, and six council members present, including the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. Not to mention, 80 participants contributed to a collaborative art project while Alpha Kappa Alpha collected 419 bags & boxes of hygiene products for the Period Project NC. Service remained central, with 30 volunteers supporting Good Hope Farm during the Outdoor Day of Service and 340 participants registering for the 5K Walk for Hope, collecting 32 cartons of non-perishable food and grocery gift cards for Neighbor Up.
