Throughout February, the Town of Cary will celebrate Black History and African American Appreciation Month under the theme “North Carolina Visionaries Inspiring Culture and Community" with a vibrant series of programs across Downtown Cary. Highlights included A Taste of Black History, a culinary exploration of African diasporic food traditions; An Old School R&B Love Affair with the Daye'ly Melodies Band, a Valentine's Night tribute to the 70's, 80's & 90's; and The Willie Hinton Dance Collective: A Tribute to the legendary Baba Chuck, a powerful multimedia performance blending dance, theater, and music.

The month will also feature youth art classes and film screenings at The Cary Theater and community-centered programs at the Downtown Cary Park.  An Art exhibition featuring Artists from the Black Diaspora will be featured at the Historic Page-Walker Art and History Center.
