Every July, communities across the country celebrate what parks make possible. In Cary, that means more than 30 parks and open spaces, over 100 miles of greenways, and thousands of programs and events that connect people of all ages and backgrounds. This Park and Recreation Month, we're joining the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) in celebrating The Power Of Parks and Recreation and the everyday moments that make our community stronger.
The power of parks in Cary
Parks are where kids discover a love of the outdoors. Where neighbors meet. Where you decompress after a long week. The Town of Cary's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources (PRCR) department is proud to maintain the spaces and programs that make those moments happen year-round.
This July, we're spotlighting five ways Cary's parks create real impact in our community:
The power of play — From youth sports leagues to summer camps and neighborhood playgrounds, Cary's programs give kids and families room to move, grow, and have fun.
The power of nature — With more than 100 miles of greenways and thousands of acres of open space, Cary offers residents a place to step outside, breathe deep, and reconnect with the natural world.
The power of community — Festivals, outdoor concerts at Koka Booth Amphitheatre, and shared public spaces give Cary residents reasons to gather, celebrate, and belong.
The power of well-being — From fitness classes to walking trails to adaptive recreation programs, Cary parks support the physical and mental health of our whole community.
The power of belonging — PRCR is committed to welcoming programs and inclusive environments where every resident feels at home.
