Types of Ceramic Studio Memberships:
At the Cary Arts Center, we offer two types of Ceramic Studio Memberships:
Adult (ages 16+) - This Studio membership is for Adults, ages 16+, who have successfully completed a qualifying ceramics class. This membership allows Studio members to use the Open Studio space and its amenities during Open Studio hours.
Youth (ages 10-15) - This Studio membership is for Youth, ages 10-15, who have successfully completed the Teen Wheel Throwing class at the Cary Arts Center. This membership allows Youth Studio members to use the Youth Open Studio space and its amenities during Youth Open Studio hours.
To Qualify for a Ceramics Studio Membership:
To qualify for a membership pass in the Ceramics Studio, patrons must first successfully complete a multi-week Beginning or Continuing class in the Ceramics Studio at the Cary Arts Center. A description of Beginning and Continuing classes is provided below:
Beginning classes- Beginning classes are for total beginners; or patrons who have already taken a class or two, but are still working on building basic skills and confidence. There is no experience required.
Continuing classes- Continuing classes are for those who have recently (within the last year) completed at least one beginning class (in our studio, or at another public studio) and are looking to further refine their skills. Or, for those who are recently more practiced at the craft and looking for studio access. Continuing classes are not suitable for total beginners, as experience is required.
To Qualify for an Adult Ceramic Studio Membership:
Patrons (ages 16+) must have successfully completed one of these classes within the last year to qualify:
- Beginning Wheel Throwing (STUD0023)
- Continuing Wheel Throwing (STUD0060)
- Beginning Hand Building (STUD0034)
- Continuing Hand Building (STUD0059)
To Qualify for an Youth Ceramic Studio Membership:
Youth (ages 10-15) must have successfully completed Teen Wheel Throwing (STUD0014) within the last year to qualify.
Completion of summer camps does not qualify Youth patrons for a studio pass.
