Wood Studio Membership:
We offer a Wood Studio Membership pass for Patrons who qualify to purchase one. The Wood Studio Membership allows Patrons to come and use the Wood Studio during scheduled Open Studio Hours.
During these hours, Patrons may work on personal projects such as woodworking projects or woodturning projects depending on which classes they have successfully completed at the Cary Arts Center. There will be an instructor on hand to monitor the studio and provide help when needed.
To Qualify for a Wood Studio Membership:
To qualify for a membership pass in the Wood Studio, patrons must first successfully complete a multi-week Beginning class in the Wood Studio at the Cary Arts Center within the last year. We offer two types of Beginning glass classes that qualify patrons for a Wood Studio Membership:
Woodworking Basics (STUD0045)- Learn shop safety and basic woodworking techniques. Use small hand tools and larger power tools such as a table saw, drill press, and planer to make a small project.
Successful completion of this class will qualify a patron to purchase an Open Studio pass and work on woodworking projects during open studio hours.
Woodturning Basics (STUD0049)- Explore the art of wood turning. Learn to use the lathe safely and create unique turned pieces.
Successful completion of this class will qualify a patron to purchase an Open Studio pass and work on woodturning projects during open studio hours.
*We do not currently offer youth passes for the Wood Studio.*
