Summer 2026 Information

 

Junior Team Tennis (JTT) is a USTA junior league program that offers practice and match play. Players should be able to serve, rally, and keep score (except for 8U players). This program is not for new players!  

If you are a new player, please look up the Tots, Aces, Futures, Challengers HS Prep, and Starter JTT classes on RecTrac.

Important Summer Dates

  • Registration opens Thursday, April 30. Links to register are located below. 

  • Registration closes Friday, May 29. 

  • Parent Meetings (virtual) Sunday, May 31 & Monday, June 1 (attend one)

  • Practices start the week of June 1. There are 8 practices.

  • Matches start Friday, June 19. There are 6 matches.

Pricing

  • Resident: $135 (not including $21 USTA team registration)

  • Nonresident: $155 (not including $21 USTA team registration)

Registration in TennisLink Required: An additional $18 league registration fee is required by the USTA (plus a $3 processing fee). Payment will be made through the USTA website TennisLink. Additional information and instructions will be provided. A USTA junior membership is required.

USTA Membership

A USTA membership is required for JTT participation. All junior memberships
are FREE! Family memberships do not apply to the free junior membership.

Practice Information

  • Practices begin the week of June 1. There will be 8 practices.
  • Practices are scheduled to end the week of July 27.
  • No Practices June 29-July 2 due to the July 4 and the Cary Tennis Classic Professional
    Tennis Challenger Event.
  • Practice rainouts will be added to the end of the season.
  • 10u, 12u, and 14/18u practices are 60 minutes and will be held at Godbold Park and/or Annie Jones Park.
  • 8u practices are 60 minutes long and will be held at Cary Tennis Park.
  • Your child may only attend their registered practice day and time. No make-ups or
    credits will be given for personal reasons.
  • Due to court limitations, practice spaces are limited. Only register your child for ONE practice time. Should space allow, we will email everyone if we have the space for players to register for a second practice. 

Match Information

All Divisions

  • The season consists of six matches.
  • Match schedule and team assignments will be posted on Tennislink in mid-June. 
  • All participants must register their team in TennisLink. Those who do not register will not be eligible to participate in matches.
  • Matches start June 19 and run through August 7. No matches on July 3 and July 10 may be skipped, too.
  • You may NOT request a specific match time or location.
  • Match attendance is expected. Players who do not attend matches regularly may be moved to the Recreational division.
  • Matches canceled due to weather will be added to the end of the season.

10U, 12U and 14/18U Divisions

  • Matches will be scheduled on Fridays with possible start times at 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
  • All matches are 90 minutes long.
  • Teams may play HOME and AWAY matches. Home matches will be at Town of Cary facilities. Away matches can be at any of the local clubs listed under Match Locations. 

8u Division

  • The season consists of six matches.
  • Matches are 60 minutes long and will be scheduled on Fridays, with start times of 5:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.
  • All 8u JTT Matches are located at Cary Tennis Park. (Red ball courts or Stadium court)

During inclement weather, check the section titled Programs/Classes HERE for updates on your practice or match.

This page will be updated approximately 1 hour before practice or match time. Check this link frequently before heading to practice or matches. Make sure to refresh the page to get the latest update.

IMPORTANT: Check the weather update for your specific court location. Don’t assume that if it’s raining at your house, practice is canceled at your court.

Team Managers (10u, 12u, and 14/18u) 

  • Can you help support our JTT program as a Team Manager this season? Team Managers drastically increase the quality and efficiency of our JTT seasons. These volunteers need no knowledge or experience in tennis to help out! 

  • Team Managers communicate with their teams, get match commitments, create line-ups from templates we supply, expedite matches on match days, and record scores. 

  • Learn more about volunteering as a Team Manager here. When registering your JTT participant, you will have the opportunity to indicate interest in volunteering as a Team Manager.

JTT Refund Policy

Refunds must be requested in writing. A full refund of all registration fees will be
granted up until the first week of practices. Once the season has started, a player may
request a refund minus a $25 administrative fee as long as the request occurs before the
first scheduled match. After the date of the first scheduled match has passed, no refunds
will be granted except for verified medical/hardship cases. Credits that remain inactive
for one year are automatically donated to fund need-based discounts for Cary recreation programs.
