Town of Cary and University of Mount Olive to Host 2026 NCAA DII Baseball Championship

The Town of Cary is once again preparing to welcome top collegiate talent as we host the 2026 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship from May 29 through June 6. This marks the sixteenth year that the Town, in partnership with the University of Mount Olive and the NCAA, has brought the prestigious tournament to the area. The championship will feature the nation’s eight best Division II baseball teams competing for the national title.
The USA Baseball National Training Complex continues to be enhanced to better serve teams and fans alike. Most recently, Coleman Field (stadium field) has undergone a complete field renovation, with the NCAA DII Baseball Championship being the first event held on the new field.
Tickets can be purchased for the entire tournament, as well as single gamedays, here: carync.gov/diibaseball.
Fields 3 and 4 back in play with new turf surface

Fields 3 and 4, complete with new artificial turf surfaces, are back in use at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. Field 2 and Coleman Field will remain field grass.
Having turf fields provides NTC with numerous new options for activities and programs. The turf enhances the facility by making it available to users year-round, and reduces the number of games cancelled due to rain. The new infields have base anchors at multiple distances, opening up the fields for use by age groups beyond just those utilizing 60- or 90-foot bases.
On the new surfaces, teams and players are reminded to use only molded cleats or turf shoes - NO spikes.
