Batting Cages and Hitting Area
There are four batting cages and a hitting area with three hitting stations at Thomas Brooks Park. They are located just outside of the Athletic Complex.
Cage numbers correspond with field numbers. Cages 5-8 are available on a first-come, first-served basis unless otherwise listed on this page. Cages 1-4 are located at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.

Reservation Information
- Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of a rental time.
- Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance to receive reimbursement. Should we cancel due to inclement weather, you will receive a refund within 3-5 business days.
- Monday-Friday
- Cages 5 & 6 are designated primarily for Baseball/Softball, and each cage has the ability to be split in half to provide two workout stations
- Cages 7 & 8 are designated primarily for Cricket.
- Saturday-Sunday - March through November
- All Cages are reserved in accordance with the baseball/softball tournament schedules at fields 5-8.
You can reserve the Thomas Brooks Cages using RecTrac. If you don't currently have a RecTrac Account, you will need to create one to make a reservation.
Rules of Use for Cages 5-8
- To get a weather update, please call our Weather Hotline: 919-319-4500. If Thomas Brooks' fields are listed as canceled, the cages are closed as well.
- If a cage is being used without a reservation, it must be vacated immediately upon the arrival of a patron who has reserved it.
- No use for private profit.
- If you remove L-screens and dividers, please replace them at the end of use.
- Hitting mats need to remain down for all activities to maintain the integrity of the turf, including cricket use.
- No food or drink is permitted in cages.
Lessons
The Town offers one-on-one lessons for both baseball and softball, as well as clinics throughout the year.

Soccer Fields
The Thomas Brooks Multipurpose Fields are home to NCFC Youth.
Free play is available when the fields are not in use.

Basketball Courts
The Thomas Brooks Basketball Courts are a great place for neighborhood pickup basketball games. The courts are lighted. They work on a timer system that can be activated at the courts. Once the timer is activated, the lights are programmed to come on near dusk and automatically go off at 11 p.m.
