Sensory Resources

ACCESS Cary offers sensory tools and resources at select Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources facilities, programs, and events. Participants can use these resources for sensory support, a quieter space, or time to recharge during their recreation experience.

Zen Dens at Community Events

Zen Dens provide a dedicated sensory-friendly space at select Cary community events. Guests can step away from event activity, access sensory tools, and recharge before returning when they are ready.

Each Zen Den includes sensory tools, calming music, and flexible seating. Guests may choose which options, if any, work for them.

Inside the Zen Den

  • Sensory tools: Options that guests may use for focus, grounding, sensory regulation, or rest.
  • Calming music: Lower-volume music that helps create a quieter atmosphere.
  • Flexible seating: Different seating options so guests can choose what feels comfortable.
