Thank you for your interest in working with Cary Teen Council!

 Cary Teen Council is a volunteer organization made up of enthusiastic and dedicated teens from Cary who are passionate about giving back to their community. Please complete the form below, and we will contact you if we have any additional questions. Our volunteers are students in grades 8–12—please specify if your event is best suited for a particular age range.

 

For their safety and in accordance with our guidelines, teens are not permitted to:

  • Enter private residences

  • Be solely responsible for children

  • Handle alcoholic beverages

  • Operate motorized vehicles

  • Use hand tools or sharp/puncturing objects

  • Volunteer before 7 a.m. throughout the year

  • Volunteer longer than 5 hours at a time

Important Notes for Event Organizers:

  • Requests made with less than two weeks’ notice are not guaranteed approval; please allow 3–4 weeks notice whenever possible.

  • Make your request as detailed as possible to help us match the right volunteers.

  • Please ensure volunteers have meaningful tasks for their full shift—releasing them early or leaving them without work is not acceptable.

  • New requesters will meet briefly with the Program Supervisor before approval.

  • All requesters must follow Cary Teen Council’s Event Organizer Expectations. We take our volunteers’ safety and experience very seriously—it is always our top priority.

  • Our volunteers are not event staff, they should not be expected to preform heavy labor tasks. If teens feel unsafe or uncomfortable with a task, they have been instructed to poltiely decline.
