Need-Based Discount for Cary Recreation Programs

Cary is committed to providing equal opportunities for all residents to participate in programs, ensuring cost is not a barrier. Qualifying households may receive discounts up to 95% on all Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources programming. More information and how to apply can be found on the need-based discount webpage.

Inclement Weather Procedure

In the event of inclement weather, the sports staff will make a decision on games. Information will be on the Town website. A recording will also be on the Weather Cancellation Line (919) 319-4500. Updates are made at 3 p.m. each weekday, 8 a.m. on Saturday, and 12 p.m. on Sunday. If a decision is made after these times, it will be made at the facility by the officials.

Volunteer Coaches

Cary relies on volunteer coaches for the organized youth sports leagues. Coaches must be available for weekly practice and games. Each coach is required to be certified by the National Youth Sports Coaches Association and to submit and pass a background check. Coaches must teach sportsmanship as well as specific sport skills. Anyone interested in coaching any sport should visit the Volunteer Youth Coach webpage for more information and email sports@carync.gov with any questions.
