Town of Cary
Home MenuFinancial Reports
Cary produces annual financial reports to comply with state laws, maintain its AAA bond rating*, ensure transparency in public spending, and track the impact of key projects. The two main financial reports include the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR).
- The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) is the official statement of the Town's financial position on June 30, at the close of the fiscal year.
- The Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) is a shorter, non-technical version of the ACFR.
*Thanks to prudent financial decisions by the Town Council and Town employees, and the handling of financial transactions with an eye on detail and priority on value, we've achieved (according to a national credit rating agency) an "exceptional financial position" and "outstanding financial performance." These commendations were accompanied by an AAA credit rating, the best possible rating for a local government. Visit our Municipal Bond Sales page for additional information.
