Western Wake Regional Water Reclamation Facility Expansion Master Plan

The Western Wake Regional Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) is a regional facility, co-owned by Cary and Apex.  The facility was constructed in 2014 as an 18 million gallon per day (MGD) wastewater treatment facility.  Since that time, wastewater flows to the facility have steadily increased as a result of growth in Cary and Apex.  As a result, an Expansion Master Plan was developed in 2025 to establish a plan to guide the expansion of the facility to 30 MGD.
