Join the Fun in Downtown Cary

Come out to downtown Cary on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a vibrant celebration of community, safety, and connection! The Cary Police Department is hosting Public Safety Day, a lively event filled with free activities, local agency showcases, interactive attractions, and delicious food trucks all along S. Academy Street in downtown Cary. Meet the dedicated teams from Cary Police and Fire, and engage with representatives from EMS, WakeMed, and other local organizations working to keep our neighborhoods safe and strong.

Additionally, we will have a disposal booth for you to drop off your unwanted, unused and expired prescription pills and patches. Collection site cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps, only pills or patches.
