Join the Fun in Downtown Cary

Come out to downtown Cary on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a vibrant celebration of community, safety, and connection! The Cary Police Department is hosting Public Safety Day, a lively event featuring free activities, local agency showcases, interactive attractions, and delicious food trucks along S. Academy Street in downtown Cary. Meet the dedicated teams from Cary Police and Fire, and engage with representatives from EMS, WakeMed, and other local organizations working to keep our neighborhoods safe and strong.

Additionally, we will have a disposal booth for you to drop off your unwanted, unused, and expired prescription pills and patches. The collection site cannot accept liquids, needles, or sharps; only pills or patches are accepted.
