The primary goal of the water conservation program is to educate the community about the environmental and economic benefits of using water efficiently. The first step is understanding how we use water and then what to do. The Town Facility Tours of our water or wastewater treatment plants (for fourth grade students and older). We also offer a virtual tour of our Water Treatment Facility for all ages as well as a more advanced wastewater process tour of our newest Water Reclamation Facility.
Water Use - Indoors
Did you know that 1 in 4 toilets leaks? And leaks can account for 14% of the water use in our homes on average. The Town recommend EPA's Water Sense certified toilets and find helpful videos on how to easily find & fix leaks, including how to replace your leaky Toilet Flapper, Even if you don't have a leak, there are plenty of WaterSense Savings ideas and tools you can consider, like replacing your Faucet Aerator.
